Anchoring practices for navigating bodies

ANCORAR is a movement practice with a somatic approach, which seeks strategies through the body to recover its connection with the ground.

 

Through my bones, I align myself with the vertical axis, plant my feet on the ground, and find my sense of integrity and my place in the world. I lift my head, opening space in the nape of my neck, and connect with my sense of dignity . And the pelvis , there in the center, marks the in-between worlds, the gateway that connects heaven and earth, dignity and integrity.

 

By activating awareness in the body from the pelvis down, we establish a clear relationship with the ground, gaining support and courage to rescue what is essential , assuming our pleasure , our joy and our intuitive intelligence .

 

A research work created and shared by Flora Mariah since 2018, ANCORAR practices are journeys of rescue and connection through the body and movement that cross 3 levels of support: the ground, internal supports and network support.

 

We work deeply on our relationship with the ground, weight and gravity, we study and mobilize the pelvis through circular movements and vibrations, we engage with the vertical axis and create space in the body for our most authentic expression. Without choreography or ideal forms to pursue, we open the way in search of ourselves, creating strong roots that will nourish and sustain our pleasure and joy in moving.

 

This journey comprises three different modulations of work, which are explored in all classes, but can also be experienced separately in a more in-depth way during immersions .

Meet the three Modules

I. Anchor Module

The function of the anchor is to find the ground underwater.

 

First, we meet the ground , becoming aware of our weight and our deepest support structure, the bones . Then we interact with gravity , experiencing the opposite directions that manifest in the body when we relate to the ground with clear intention .

II. Compass Module

Here we discover other levels of support: our internal support structures.

 

One of these supporting structures is the pelvis , which receives special attention because it occupies a central place in the body, acting as an important channel of communication between the lower and upper parts.

 

The pelvis is our internal compass , our center of sexual and creative energy, it is the base of the trunk, and a gateway between inside and outside, heaven and earth. Our first cradle and first experience of support, contour and nourishment.

 

Let's study and mobilize this great energy center called the pelvis. And, through movement, we will release unnecessary tension so that the pelvis can perform its function as a channel and articulate with the other support structures at a deeper level, capable of supporting our expansion.

III. Navigation Module

And, at the limit of our expansion, we find the other / the world.

 

Here we discover a more horizontal level of support, common support, where, with my feet firmly on the ground and the channels open, I find points of intersection with the other, I offer and receive support without losing myself. Together, we become co-responsible for sharing and multiplying our joy, and thus, in sharing, we find the miracle of multiplication in celebration .
