Somatic Practices for Pregnancy and Postpartum
Since 2018, when I began my journey studying the pelvis and its supporting structures, I've had two children and therefore been able to experiment with my own tools during two different pregnancies. The process of gestating, giving birth to, and mothering both children invited me to further deepen my study of the pelvis and its supports. After my second child, I created a practice specifically dedicated to pregnant and postpartum people, using my own tools. I continue to study and improve in this field, and I am currently completing a training in "Somatic Practices for Pregnant Women - Birth in Motion" with Anne Sobotta .
These practices that I offer are geared towards supporting and promoting the well-being of pregnant and postpartum people, using the tools of my bodywork practice to meet the specific needs of these phases of motherhood. Recognizing the importance of special care during pregnancy and the postpartum period, I propose approaches that promote both the physical and emotional health of the participants.
Gestation:
Support and Expansion
During pregnancy, we experience perhaps the greatest expansion our bodies can undergo, both physically and emotionally.
In our practices for pregnant women, we will focus heavily on recognizing our internal support systems so that, from there, we can create more space and gain more strength to cope with the expansion that pregnancy and childbirth require. With the help of somatic practices and dance, we will become aware of our pelvis in its structure, function, and expression, so that we can experience movement and support to its fullest potential.
Postpartum period:
Contour and Border
After experiencing such expansion during pregnancy and childbirth, in the postpartum period, we experience the emptiness of our bodies.
The practices for the postpartum period will be conducted to reinforce the notion of boundary, boundary, and nurturing, exploring how this new mother can reconnect with her new body and rebuild her own spaces of individuality.
Exercises will be used to promote the recovery of support structures and to help build self-care tools. In addition, there will be moments of reflection and emotional support, allowing participants to share experiences and build a support network.
Individual Sessions
